The Kim Kardashian App Made $1.73 Million In Five Days
Attention everyone who thought the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood smartphone game was a ridiculous joke. But the numbers don't lie. Glu Mobile - the company that developed the game - has reported that they made $US 1.6 million (approximately $1.7 million) in the first five days of the game's activity in June. Just to repeat: $1.6 million. In five days.
Today, the game is in the top five highest-grossing apps in the entire iTunes store. The koncept is simple: with Kim as your mentor, you attempt to climb the Hollywood social ladder to photo shoots, glamorous clothes and fame. The app is free to download, but in-app purchases - real-life money buys you K stars, or Kardashian dollars - allow you to advance further and faster in your quest to become the ultimate D-list celebrity.
This thing is real, and people are literally spending millions of dollars on it. All those wanting to keep up with the Kardashians, beware.
