Kid Rock Sends a Direct Political Message About Election Results

Kid Rock sent a direct political message to his fans in the wake of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

While the country rock star vocally supported President-elect Donald Trump in his race against Democrat Kamala Harris, Kid Rock reminded his fans that those who disagree with them “are good people” who just “think differently” than they do.

Kid Rock, who was born Robert Ritchie, shared his message in a video that he posted on Instagram on Friday, Nov. 8. The video, which he labeled his “official election reaction,” began with the 53-year-old appearing dressed in a red jumpsuit with gold detailing, fully embracing the onstage image his fans are familiar with. He stepped through a set of doors from beneath a “Billiards” sign and walked up to a microphone stand, on which he’d left a white hat. Kid Rock took a puff of the cigar he held in one hand before picking up the hat, placing it on his head, and taking hold of the microphone. But instead of using it, he dropped the mic and made a couple of obscene gestures.

After showing his initial celebration, the video then switched to a view of the same spot—but this time Kid Rock showed up wearing a white T-shirt and olive green shorts. A text overlay credited the comments that followed to “Bob Ritchie.”

“First off, let me convey to my family, friends and supporters that now is not the time to gloat,” the “Redneck Paradise” singer said. “We must remember that most of our left-leaning friends are good people who want the same things in life as we do, but simply think differently on how to get there. It is now time to be the bigger man. To extend an olive branch and unite all reasonable people of this great nation.”

As Kid Rock spoke, the video showed clips of American flags fluttering on the sides of homes, bird’s-eye views of small towns and concert footage. The video later included footage of Trump and his supporters—including a view of the assassination attempt that left Trump injured during a campaign rally over the summer.

“God has blessed America, and together, with President Trump, we will make America great again,” Kid Rock concluded, using Trump’s campaign slogan to bring his message to an end. The video showed a bit more footage of the “All Summer Long” singer performing onstage before ending with a poster advertising Rock the Country 2025, a touring festival that Kid Rock is slated to headline.

Kid Rock is one of many celebrities who has spoken out about the results of the Nov. 5 election over the last few days. Media outlets called the race for Trump on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
