Keyla Monterroso Mejia Cast In Apple TV+ Series ‘Acapulco’ For Season 4
EXCLUSIVE: Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Curb Your Enthusiasm, You’re Cordially Invited) has joined the Season 4 cast of the Apple TV+ bilingual series Acapulco, led by Eugenio Derbez. The show will premiere later this year.
Monterroso Mejia will recur as Memo’s (Fernando Carsa) sister, the assistant head of operations under Maximo (Enrique Arrizon/Derbez).

The series tells the story of twentysomething Máximo Gallardo (Enrique Arrizon), whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco.
In Season 3 of the series inspired by the 3Pas Studios and Pantelion Films’ feature How to Be A Latin Lover, past mistakes were reconciled with exciting new beginnings. In the present story, older Máximo (Eugenio Derbez) returns to a Las Colinas he no longer recognizes. While in 1985, younger Máximo (Arrizón) continues to climb up the ladder of success while potentially jeopardizing all the relationships he’s worked so hard to build.
In addition to Derbez, Arrizon and Carsa, the ensemble cast includes, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Vanessa Bauche, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, Chord Overstreet, Rafael Cebrián, Regina Orozco, and Carlos Corona.
Acapulco is produced for Apple by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios, Zihuatanejo Productions and The Tannenbaum Company. In addition to starring in the series, Derbez serves as executive producer alongside Ben Odell. The series is created by Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Shuman. Winsberg also executive produces with Sam Laybourne who serves as showrunner. Additional executive producers include Kim and Eric Tannenbaum, as well as Jason Wang on behalf of The Tannenbaum Company. Jaime Eliezer Karas also executive produces and directs, and Sonia Gambaro co-executive produces for 3Pas Studios.
Monterroso Mejia is best known for her scene-stealing character Maria Sofia Estrada on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm from Larry David. She is now starring opposite Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon in Amazon’s You’re Cordially Invited, written and directed by Nick Stoller, One of Them Days with Keke Palmer and SZA and Searchlight Pictures’ Suncoast with Laura Linney and Woody Harrelson, which is currently streaming on Hulu.
In television, Monterroso Mejia will next star opposite Seth Rogen in The Studio, Apple TV+’s upcoming comedy series from Rogen’s Point Grey, which will be released on March 26th. She will also appear in Mindy Kaling’s pro-basketball comedy series Running Point for Netflix. Her credits also include ABC’s hit comedy series Abbott Elementary Season 2, where she portrays “Ashley,” Melissa Schemmenti’s (Lisa Ann Walter) teacher’s aide, and Netflix’s Freeridge, a spinoff to the streamer’s On My Block.
The Creative Coalition honored Monterroso Mejia with an inaugural NextGen Spotlight Initiative Award at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. She is repped by UTA, MGMT Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
