Kerri-Anne Kennerley: I have cancer

In an exclusive interview with New Idea, out today, TV favourite Kerri-Anne Kennerley, 58, has revealed she is battling breast cancer.

Just seven days after her shock diagnosis, she tells of her progression through a barrage of emotions and thoughts – including shock, denial, problem-solving practicality and gut-churning fear.

But most of all she is determined to beat the disease and leave it behind her.

‘I didn’t have any of the risk factors,’ she tells New Idea in the exceptionally raw and moving chat. 'That’s why I thought it could never happen to me. I’ve always looked after myself, but here I am.

'The doctor told me if I hadn't lost eight kilograms on Dancing With The Stars (DWTS), and if I hadn't been fiddle-faddling with that beaded bra, I might not have realised there was anything wrong for months.

'I guess you could say DWTS may have saved my life.'
