Kenny Chesney's Surprise Donation to Massachusetts Animal Rescue League Is Touching Hearts
Kenny Chesney performed for three nights last month at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts and certainly made a mark on this city, quietly making donations to local charities.
One of these charities was the Animal Rescue League of Boston and to say they were thrilled by his generosity is an understatement.
The YouTube Channel for CBS Boston shared the amazing clip and it explains that before closing out his concert series at Boson's Gillette Stadium Chesney made donations to local charities including the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

CBS News reports, "Getting the call from Kenny's team and finding out we were getting a very generous gift was wonderful news," said Jackie Smith, the vice president of development for the Animal Rescue League of Boston. I think a lot of folks assume there is government funding for animal sheltering. There actually is not. The ARL has to rely solely on donations because we don't get any government grants or public funding," she explained.
A huge dog lover, Chesney lost his beloved Pit Bull mix named Ruby in December of 2022. To celebrate her life and how much she means to him and his family, Chesney created this touching video about Ruby and even wrote a song for her , asking for donations to the Stray Rescue of St Louis.
It's such a touching tribute to a dog that was loved so much, and what a beautiful things he has done by continuing to donate money to help animals in need.
How To Make A Difference In the Lives Of Shelter Animals
Here are ways you can help shelter pets in your own community.
You can, of course, foster or adopt a shelter pet. You can make a monetary donation to your local Humane Society or animal rescue. You can drop off donations of pet food, cat litter, cleaning supplies, dog and cat toys, or old blankets and towels to your local animal rescue.
You can surprise your local shelter staff with a box of doughnuts or a delivery of pizza to thank them for all of their selfless work.
You can contact your local shelter and see about taking a dog for a sleepover to help them with kennel stress, you can volunteer to bottle feed kittens, or you can volunteer to walk shelter dogs.
You can sponsor the spaying and neutering of a dog or cat at your local shelter, or hold a car wash, bake sale or yard sale and donate the proceeds to your local shelter.
Whatever you decide to do, with shelters being overcrowded and understaffed, volunteering to help with animals in any way you can is a wonderful way to give back.
