Kendall Jenner's Plunging Met Gala Gown Had a Sheer V-Shaped Hip Cutout

It's a glam take on Elvira's go-to getup.

Kendall Jenner can model pretty much anything, but there's no denying that her 2024 Met Gala look is beyond stunning. The model walked up the storied steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a look that perfectly adhered to “The Garden of Time" theme, picking a gown straight out the fashion vault that included a deep-V neckline and a panel of sheer fabric mirroring the V that went across her hips. The look was full-on goth, with allover jet black beading and even a set of shimmering fringe details at her shoulders.

Jenner explained that the look was an archival Givenchy by Alexander McQueen gown from 1999. She told La La Anthony on the red carpet that he was the first human to wear the look, which had previously only been shown on a mannequin. The dress included a fully beaded skirt with a flared, trumped shape and a tiny train that trailed behind her as she walked on the carpet.

"I couldn't do any tailoring, I couldn't do anything," she said of the look. "It was meant to be."

At last year's Karl Lagerfeld-dedicated gala, the reality TV star wore a Marc Jacobs sequined bodysuit with the longest sleeves ever and a bedazzled silver lapel in honor of the famed designer's signature suit. Jenner ditched pants entirely and instead styled the head-turning piece with knee-high lace-up monster boots with the tallest platform. Her hair was slicked into a high flipped-out ponytail.

While on the carpet, Jenner walked close to her younger sister Kylie Jenner—who wore a red and blue Haider Ackermann for Jean Paul Gaultier dress-coat hybrid—and best friend Gigi Hadid. For the after-party, Jenner slipped into a custom Nensi Dojak sheer, sequined one-piece inspired by a look from the Chanel Spring 1994 show. The star was seen heading to the festivities with her then-boyfriend Bad Bunny, who is also serving as one of the co-chairs at tonight's event.

In 2022, Jenner attended with Prada in a totally see-through bedazzled mesh tank top and a super voluminous black ballgown skirt with exaggerated ruffle detailing.

As if the sheer top and humongous skirt weren't enough to catch your eye, Jenner rocked bleached brows that made her nearly unrecognizable.
