Kendall Jenner Goes "Golden Blonde" Inspired by "Caroline Bessette-Kennedy"
"She is really inspired by the '90s."
Kendall Jenner has made it official—summer is over. Fall is here and Jenner has embraced the chilly season with the perfect, crisp new look. That's right—Kendall Jenner has gone blonde. Plus, she's cut her hair into this fall's trendiest shape: a sharp, blunt lob.
Jenner showed off the new look in a carousel of images, writing simply, "blonded." Her new 'do is a soft, golden blonde and reaches just past her shoulders. In the series of photos, she wore her hair in Emi Jay's '90s-style "Big Effing" claw clip and, later, in a Brigitte Bardot-inspired black jersey headband, embracing a decidedly retro, understated new beauty era.
According to Jenner's colorist, Jenna Perry, the model actually took her inspiration from a classic fashion icon. “It took me two days to take her this gorgeous shade of golden blonde,” Perry told Vogue, adding, “She is really inspired by the '90s and Caroline Bessette-Kennedy right now.”
Caroline Bessette-Kennedy was the wife of JFK Jr., who famously wore her blonde hair in a chic, straight lob. During her life, Bessette-Kennedy was something of a fashion icon who was known for her simple, sleek hair. She and her husband along with her older sister Lauren Bessette tragically died in a plane crash in 1999.
Jenner recently toyed with another retro hair look, debuting what appeared to be an ultra cropped pixie cut in a new Calvin Klein campaign last week—although it now seems this new look was simply a wig. Jenner has also experimented with blonde hair in the past. In 2019, for instance, she rocked a soft blonde look to walk the catwalk for Burberry.
