Kelsea Ballerini Paired Her Golden Scale-Print Gown With the Most Controversial Purse
Think "Under the Sea," but high fashion.
Kelsea Ballerini knows how to have fun at a red carpet event, and as such, will wear an equally playful ensemble to match. The country singer couldn't resist whipping out two bold items from her closet for the premiere of Doctor Odyssey, and even tried her hand at theme dressing for the event.
Ballerini attended the premiere alongside boyfriend and Outer Banks actor, Chase Stokes. For the September 18 event, the musician wore a Champagne-gold gown that was printed with square scales. She accessorized with a strappy gold heel, but the real star of Ballerini's outfit was her whimsical bag—a clear acrylic piece shaped like a fishbowl with a bright orange goldfish on the inside. To tie the look together, Ballerini added an orange pop of color to her lips and kept the rest of her makeup minimal.
This isn't the first time that Barton's cheeky fish bag has made it to a red carpet event. Heidi Klum previously wore the accessory, albeit in a very different manner, to the 2023 Fashion Trust US Awards in Los Angeles. Klum went for a high glam outfit by Barton, and wore a charcoal gray floor-length dress from the designer that featured a finish so blinding, it resembled chrome. The America's Got Talent Judge finished the look with the tiny fishbowl purse worn in her hand, like Ballerini.
The fishbowl purse—which is officially called the Goldfish Accessory Bag on Kate Barton's website—retails for $275 and is still available for purchase (if you feel so inclined). The bag additionally features the Kate Barton logo in silver embedded into the acrylic for a reflective effect when it hits the light.
