Keke Palmer Channels Jamie Lee Curtis in Latest Look That Has Jaws Dropping
Keke Palmer dug into the archives to find her recent red carpet look, and we for one, are huge fans.
On Sunday, Feb. 23, the 31-year-old actress arrived at the Screen Actors Guild Awards wearing a glamorous vintage gown once worn by Jamie Lee Curtis.
The piece in question was an archival Chanel gown, a figure-hugging strapless black velvet gown with gold detailing on the bust, which initially turned heads nearly 40 years ago at the First Annual American Cinematheque Award Salute to Eddie Murphy in February 1986. Curtis also wore black opera gloves and a pair of oversized gold stud earrings for the inaugural event, which took place at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif., mimicking the runway model's entire look from head to toe.
Palmer also recreated the timeless fashion statement, strutting around the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles wearing not only the gown but a lookalike pair of opera gloves and classic black heels. She styled her short red bob in a bouncy blowout and rocked a bold red shade of lipstick and a dark smokey eye, adding a little sparkle with a pair of simple earrings.

The nod to Curtis appears intentional as Palmer's stylist, Molly Dickson, shared several throwback images to her Instagram Story the day of the award show. The first image appeared to be taken during the Chanel F/W 1985 fashion show, capturing a model with short reddish-brown hair walking the runway in the gown, gloves and earrings Curtis later wore to the event. A second snap showed the Halloween actress' take on it.
Palmer's appearance quickly went viral as fans adored her sustainable fashion statement, calling her "the moment" and even dubbing this one of her "best looks ever."
"Let’s see more women taking part in this!!" another Instagram user cheered. "Recycle those gowns!! ❤️❤️😍😍."
"Yessss," one more exclaimed. "Lend my girl the pieces!!!"
Curtis also complimented Palmer's fashion choice, writing on Instagram, "As much as I would love to say it was mine, it was borrowed from my friend @debopp and I'm thrilled to be anywhere near @keke in style and grace and talent!" to which Palmer replied "My QUEEN! I love you!!!!"
