Yahoo Lifestyle Katie Holmes shows off one last look ahead of her final Broadway show
Last night, Katie Holmes took her final bow in the Broadway revival of Our Town.
Since taking the stage in October, the actress has been making headlines — not just for her performance, but for her stylish commutes to-and-from shows at Barrymore Theatre. Like a true New Yorker, Holmes has mastered the layered winter look with shearling-trim coats, slouchy knits, and lots and lots of bags. She’s even influenced us with some subtle styling lessons and her dedication to repurposing outfits, and accordingly relied on some of her most-worn pieces for her closing look in Midtown.
As Holmes entered the theatre one last time, she wore an all-black ensemble (perhaps mourning the end of her show’s run). Like many of her past looks, she centred her outfit around a chic jacket, this time opting for a polished wool coat that she wore buttoned to the top. Underneath, she appeared to wear a black jumper, pairing the piece with slim black trousers.
For the special occasion, Holmes slipped into a pair of translucent Christian Louboutin heels, flaunting the footwear’s geometric black design. The signature red bottoms of the shoes naturally acted as another accessory themselves, matching the red tote the Rare Objects director carried in hand. Not to be caught without all of her backstage essentials, she also held one of her staple black leather bags, which coordinated with her large go-to sunglasses.
Sunday meant curtains for Our Town, but we can hopefully anticipate more style moments from Holmes. While we’ll miss her creative layering combinations, we’re looking forward to a whole new season of outfit inspiration.
