Kate Winslet's son recently watched Titanic for the first time — and he couldn't get through the movie without shedding a few tears.

The Mare of Easttown actress, 48, spoke with E! News at the premiere of her film Lee in New York City on Wednesday, Sept. 25, sharing that her 10-year-old son Bear had just seen his mother on-screen as Rose for the first time.

"My youngest has seen Titanic, he saw it last year," Winslet told the outlet. "He cried a lot, and he kept having to pause it, and he was very upset."

The star shares Bear with husband Edward Abel Smith and is also mom to daughter Mia, 23, whom she shares with ex Jim Threapleton, and son Joe, 20, whom she shares with ex Sam Mendes.

Although Winslet said her kids have "certainly not" seen all her movies, there is one that her two older kids really like.

"My older two, who are nearly 24 and 21, they love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," she shared. "Yeah, that's a big favorite for them."

Despite not normally liking to watch herself on-screen, Winslet admitted that hearing her kids had seen that movie without her was disappointing.

"They'll just sort of say, 'Oh, I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind the other day.' I'm like, 'What? You watched it without me?' " she lamented.

"I think Eternal Sunshine was one of those films that seemed to really capture people's minds, sort of a Zeitgeist thing that happened around that film. And so I think I always thought I would want to watch it with my kids one day. But they beat me to it."

In a February interview with Net-a-Porter, Winslet opened up about how her work life and her family life have started to intersect since the star's older kids have begun careers as actors. In 2021, Joe and Mia starred alongside their mom in the entirely improvised British television show I Am Ruth.

"Luckily, they're good," she told the outlet of her kids.

"It felt normal [to act alongside them]. These are kids who have been testing [me] on [my] lines pretty much since they could read. They've seen me terrified beforehand. They've gone through it with me."
