Kate Ritchie shares rare snaps of daughter Mae

Kate Ritchie, 42, has taken to Instagram to share some rare snaps of herself with daughter Mae, six, as the pair celebrated Mother's Day together.

The radio host and former Home & Away star shared two photos with her daughter, including a sweet selfie and one snap of Mae cuddling her mum after they enjoyed some quality time together.

Alongside the next snap she wrote, "I’m so glad she chose me. Because this.. Her.. It’s everything."

Kate recently started dating 25-year-old John Bell as the actress is estranged from husband Stuart Webb, Mae's father.

Kate and John made headlines earlier this year after they were spotted together enjoying a Byron Bay getaway, which was the closest thing to confirmation Kate's marriage is done for good.

Kate stopped wearing her wedding ring at the end of 2019 and moved out of the pair’s shared family home in Sydney's Randwick, though she has not directly commented on her marital situation.

In 2019, an apprehended violence order application was been made on behalf of Kate against Stuart.

According to Legal Aid NSW this type of order is typically made “to protect people who may be fearful of future violence or threats to their safety”.

New Idea reported last year Kate and Stuart were attending marriage counselling but were unable to save their relationship.

Meanwhile, Kate, who left Home & Away in 2008, confessed to TV Week earlier this year that it was tough to leave Sally Fletcher behind after 20 years of playing the role.

"It really did feel like the loss of a big part of who I was," she said. "It took me a long time to adjust to that."

The radio host also hinted she may be ready for a return to TV, "I'd like to think that in the next 12 months I'll be back on television, doing what I love. It's not that I don't love what I do [at Nova], but I have a real emotional attachment even just to being on a set. So if the right thing were to come along, I'd definitely jump on board."
