Kate Ritchie mocked by co-hosts for bizarre naked habit: 'Can't talk about this'
Kate's surprising admission left listeners divided.
Kate Ritchie’s radio co-hosts Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald held an ‘intervention’ for her on-air this week after discovering that she loves to do several household chores in the nude.
While the former Home and Away star had told her colleagues about her rather bizarre habit in private, Wippa decided to expose her on their Nova breakfast show on Tuesday morning.
“I know that on a sunny day, Ms Ritchie might actually take the kit off for a bit of sun baking,” he revealed, leaving Kate mortified.
“Why are you doing this? I didn’t know what you were doing. You can’t talk about this!” she exclaimed.

Wippa ignored Kate’s pleas and said that her habit goes beyond sun baking as she recently spent the weekend painting her back fence and pool area in the nude.
“When you told me that you’d been in the backyard painting I went, ‘You didn’t do with the clothes off did you?’ [It was] a throwaway line as a joke. Matter of fact, she did!” he continued.
“So Kate Ritchie painted the back fence completely nude!”
'I deserve it'
Kate then confirmed that she had painted the fence naked, but clarified that she didn’t initially intend to do the chore without clothes on.
“I’d done some gardening, I pulled out cactuses and things. And then I thought, ‘Oh gosh, I’m filthy. But I want to finish the paint, I want to do the painting today’,” she said.
“So I just thought, get your gear off, get all this dirt off, the soil and stuff from the old succulents. And then I thought, it’s just me here. It’s the holidays, I’m a grown-up, this is my house, and I’m painting because I deserve it.”
The mother-of-one, who lives in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, also pointed out that she wasn’t entirely nude as she wore a rather iconic accessory.
“I had my Alf Stewart hat on,” she laughed, adding, “You can’t see into the yard unless you’re in the apartments up at the top.”
While some people on social media were shocked by Kate’s admission, others applauded her for the “brave” act.
“Good on you Kate! Too many prudes in the world and we should be proud of our bodies, and you were in your own safe place. Should be more of it I say,” one fan wrote.
“Good on you Kate, be proud and enjoy what's right for you,” another person remarked.
