Was Kate Middleton's Next Royal Outing Just Revealed amid Her Children's School Break?

Kate Middleton has been out of the public eye for a few weeks, but her next engagement might be a royal family tradition that's just around the corner.

Buckingham Palace confirmed on April 11 that King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to attend the Easter Matins Service on April 20. The royals traditionally attend the holiday church service that takes place at St. George’s Chapel within Windsor Castle on Easter Sunday.

The palace added that the King, 76, and Queen, 77, would be joined by members of the royal family, and Princess Kate is likely among those who will be in attendance. The Princess of Wales, 43, is a regular at the holiday gathering alongside her husband, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

However, Kate and her family did not join the royals for the Easter church service last year, following the announcement made by the Princess of Wales the previous week that she was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer. She announced in January that she is now in remission.

After spending much of 2024 out of the public eye amid her cancer treatment, Princess Kate started 2025 with a series of engagements related to her royal work, both solo and alongside Prince William, 42.

The royal's last appearance was on St. Patrick's Day when she joined the Irish Guards at their holiday parade. Kate is the honorary colonel of the regiment, and this year marked her first time attending the event in the role solo.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have slowed down their royal duties recently as their children are on a school break ahead of Easter. William and Kate traditionally reduce their workload during vacations so they can spend time together as a family.

Prince William and Prince George were photographed on April 9 in Paris attending UEFA Champions League soccer match. The pair supported Aston Villa, William's longtime favorite team, in their game against Paris Saint-Germain, but the team lost 3-1.

Speaking with TNT Sports, the Prince of Wales shared why he wanted to bring his eldest son.

"I thought, it’s been 43 years since anything like this has happened in my generation as a Villa fan, and I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition," the British heir said, referring to the team's first European quarterfinal in over four decades. "I hope it's not 43 years until the next time it happens, but I think those memories are really important to create and to bring him along tonight is a big deal for me."

William added that Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were likely watching the game from home.

"I've left the other two at home," he said. "They're probably watching tonight."
