The countdown to Kate Middleton's annual Christmas carol concert is officially on.

With the festive event only two weeks away, the Princess of Wales has reportedly been hard at work decking the royal halls. And this year's Together at Christmas concert—which will take place on December 6 at Westminster Abbey—might prove to be extra special. Speaking with The Sun's royal editor Matt Wilkinson during the outlet's Royal Exclusive show, author Katie Nicholl speculated that Kate might have a "surprise" up her sleeve for the carol service.

Calling the event Middleton's "baby," Nicholl revealed that the princess has been "woking on it behind the scenes."

"I'm predicting a big family turnout," she added, hinting that all of Kate's three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—will make an appearance, as well as the Middleton family, including her parents, Carole and Michael, and siblings, Pippa and James.

When asked if the princess will deliver another moving piano performance as she did during the inaugural event in 2021, Nicholl replied: "I'm not sure whether she's going to be involved in the performance at all," adding, "I mean, we've yet to see. The capacity for surprise, never underestimate it."

Royal performance or not, the holiday event will be a poignant one, considering it's the first Kate will be spearheading since completing her chemotherapy treatment. There will be 1,600 people invited to this year's service, and Kate wanted to celebrate the many people supporting those in need— individuals who have inspired, counseled, comforted and "above all else, shown that love is the greatest gift we can receive," Kensington Palace said in a statement.

"I feel that the year ends on a note of hope and optimism for her," Nicholl added of her prediction.
