Ever wondered what your favourite royals carry in their makeup bags?

It just so happens that Kate Middleton accidentally let us all in on her beauty secrets with a flash of her new favourite lip gloss while attending Day 2 of Wimbledon in July.

While sitting courtside, the Duchess of Cambridge gave us a peek into her beauty routine when she pulled out her Clarins Light Natural Lip Perfector.

Described as a “softly textured lip gel with a deliciously sweet scent and 3D shimmer,” this subtle gloss creates a perfectly hydrated pout, and adds a sheer wash of colour to your lips.

The Duchess of Cambridge is one of many fans of this lightweight lippie, which has hundreds of five-star reviews, for adding shine and colour without a sticky feel.

“I love this instant light natural lip perfector,” writes one reviewer. “It goes on so smoothly and gives the perfect amount of colour. I like to use it when I want some colour on my lips but don’t want anything too dramatic.”

Kate’s exact shade of Rose Shimmer is still available to shop now, and rings in at just $32.

With The Duchess’ lip gloss reveal, we got to thinking about the other beauty picks that have received the royal seal of approval over the years, ranging from Princess Diana’s faves to Meghan Markle’s beauty tricks.

Read on to see the affordable beauty buys that the royals are loving, all at prices under $40.
