Karl Stefanovic's big Channel Nine comeback
It’s been six months of the Today show without former host Karl Stefanovic, but the TV presenter is comfortably sitting within the Channel Nine family ahead of his onscreen return.
The 44-year-old, who will be hosting This Time Next Year on the network later in 2019, spent the weekend with other big names from the channel, and it’s only made viewers want him back on screen sooner.
Attending a charity event in Queensland, Karl was pictured alongside Ray Martin and Richard Wilkins, plus rival network host, Larry Emdur, from Channel Seven’s The Morning Show.
“Raising money for the @humptydumptyfoundation in beautiful Noosa with these legends. I just don’t know which one to take home,” Karl captioned an Instagram snap of him with the other TV personalities.
Many fans jumped at the opportunity to suggest Karl make his comeback to breakfast TV.
“Bring back legend Karl . We miss you !!!! (sic)” wrote one follower.
“Please come back to morning TV it’s so f**king boring without you,” penned another.
Karl was famously dumped from the Today show at the end of last year following a string of controversies.
Since the beginning of 2019, Georgie Gardner and Deborah Knight have fronted the breakfast show, with Tom Steinfort replacing Sylvia Jeffreys as newsreader.
Karl, who remains on a multi-million dollar contract, only has This Time Next Year confirmed as an onscreen gig so far.
In April a Nine spokesman told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia: “Karl remains with Nine and will return to air with This Time Next Year later this year”.
