Justin Baldoni sent a nearly 7-minute long voice note apology to Blake Lively during the production of It Ends With Us, in which he said he was a “very flawed man,” TMZ reports.

The voice recording appears to have been sent at 2 a.m. following a tense meeting about Lively’s rewrite of the movie’s rooftop scene, which Baldoni didn’t like.

“I’m really sorry, I f---ed up, that is a fail on my part,” said Baldoni in a recording published on TMZ, adding, “I am far from perfect, I am a very flawed man, as my wife will attest.”

“I’m gonna f--- up, I’m gonna say the wrong thing, I’m gonna put my foot in my mouth, I’m gonna piss you off, probably,” he continued, “but I will always apologize and find my way back to center.”

Lively and Baldoni’s highly public legal fight started in December, when she filed a complaint accusing her co-star of sexual harassment and retaliation with the California Civil Rights Department, followed by a civil lawsuit.

Lively, a producer on It Ends With Us, alleged that Baldoni and his PR team led a preemptive online smear campaign against her.

Part of the voice note relates to the sexual harassment element of the lawsuit, which includes allegations that Baldoni repeatedly entered her trailer “while she was undressed, including when she was breastfeeding.”

Baldoni reportedly says in the note, “I’m sorry. You probably have kids all over you, and a baby on your boob and you’re listening to me ramble.”

Baldoni is counter-suing for $400 million for defamation and civil extortion, accusing Lively of destroying his “personal and professional reputation.”

Through his countersuit, Baldoni claims Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, tried to take over creative control of the project, saying he was “summoned” to Lively and Reynolds’ penthouse in New York, where a “megacelebrity friend” of the couple praised her script changes.

In the voice note, Baldoni refers to Reynolds and Lively’s friend Taylor Swift, saying he liked the script pages, and “would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor.”

“Baldoni understood the subtext,” his lawsuit says, added “he needed to comply with Lively’s direction for the script.”

“And damn right you’ve got great friends,” he said in the voice note.

“We should all have friends like that, aside from the fact that they’re two of the most creative people on the planet,” he continued.
