Yahoo Lifestyle John Mulaney Roasts Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at Netflix Event, Shocking A-List Audience
A bunch of Netflix execs and A-listers (inclding Ben Affleck and Tina Fey) gathered for an event called Next on Netflix earlier this week, and John Mulaney hopped on stage to promote his new show Everybody's Live With John Mulaney. And naturally, he told some jokes. Including one about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that had the audience gasping.
Chatting about his upcoming show, John joked, via Page Six, “This is a really fun experiment. Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.”
According to The Daily Mail, the audience was visibly shocked with audible "snickering" and several "whoas."
"It was shocking to me that Netflix would seemingly allow Meghan and Harry to be ridiculed at such a prestige event," a source told the outlet. "The head honchos were all there."
As a reminder, Meghan and Harry have a 5-year deal with Netflix worth tens of millions, and have already delivered content, tyvm. On top of their docuseries Harry & Meghan, Harry dropped a series about polo and Meghan has an upcoming lifestyle show called With Love, Meghan, that drops in March (it was pushed back due to the devastating fires in Los Angeles).
