John Mulaney is lending his voice to a new humor project.

The Emmy-winning comedian, actor and writer, 41, will narrate the audiobook for author and former Saturday Night Live writer Simon Rich’s short story collection Glory Days, PEOPLE can exclusively announce. The audiobook will be published this July by Hachette Audio, along with the hardcover edition, published by Little, Brown and Company.

Glory Days
is a collection of stories that chronicles the “plight of aging millennials,” per the book’s synopsis. The stories encapsulate a variety of perspectives, such as a 40-year-old Super Mario who must “take-a-stock” of his life, as well as the trials of a participation trophy reminiscing about how they were won by a “jubilant asthmatic” Simon Rich in 1993.

“I’ve been a John Mulaney super fan since the day we met at SNL in 2008,” Rich says in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “He’s the funniest person on the planet. I think he should read the audio version of every book, even the super-intense religious ones.”
