John Galliano Fired From His Own Label

British fashion designer John Galliano has been sacked from his own label following his anti-Semitic tirade in Paris last month.

Galliano was asked to step down from the helm of Christian Dior almost immediately after the scandal broke, but the fate of his own label hung in the balance until today, when investors handed the brand over to Galliano's in-house team.

Christian Dior, which is also without a head designer, has reportedly received an extraordinary amount of interest in the role, but the long-term future of the brand remains uncertain.

Following his recent stint in rehab, Galliano said of his actions, "Anti-Semitism and racism have no part in our society. I unreservedly apologise for my behaviour in causing any offence."

John Galliano now faces up to six months in prison and a fine of £20,000 (AU$30,000) if convicted.
