Olivia's husband grows her medical marijuana
She's battling her second bout of cancer with the kind of grace and positivity that made the world fall in love with her as Sandy in Grease.
Now Olivia Newton-John has revealed that her husband, John Easterling, is assiting in her therapy in a very special and unique way: He's growing the medical marijuana she's been using as part of her treatment.
Speaking to 60 Minutes, Olivia revealed: “My husband’s a plant medicine man so he grew cannabis for me and made tinctures for me to take for pain and inflammation and so many other things that cannabis can do."
The star also believes cannabis has been given a bad rep over the years and insists the plant actually works wonders.
“It’s been a maligned plant all these years and it really is a magical miracle plant,” she said.
The 68-year-old admitted that breaking the news to her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, about her second bout of cancer was extremely difficult.
“Well, that was… yeah, that wasn’t easy,” Olivia said.
Olivia admitted recently that she will be championing the use of medicinal cannabis while she is in Australia.
“I will do what I can to encourage it. It’s an important part of treatment, and it should be available,” she told News Corp.
The star was in Melbourne last week with her husband for the 2017 Olivia Newton-John Gala in aid of fundraising for her ONJ Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.
