Jock Zonfrillo's wife Lauren breaks silence following his shock death: 'Overwhelmed'

Lauren Fried has broken her silence one month after her husband Jock Zonfrillo's shock death. The MasterChef Australia judge passed away on May 1 at 46, with Lauren taking to Instagram on Sunday night to reveal he had a number of projects that have yet to be released.

"It's been a month since we lost Jock, and I put a line in the sand thinking that at the one month mark, I would turn some sort of a corner. Obviously that hasn't happened," she said of her grief. "And there's no time that I can allocate to say thank you to everyone, I'm just overwhelmed by the messages that came in from people all over the world that knew him or didn't know him."

She continued, "I really wish that he knew how loved he was and he knew the impact that he had on so many people."

Lauren then revealed the many projects Jock had been working on behind the scenes, adding she didn't know whether or not it would be "appropriate" to share these things on his social media following his passing, asking Jock's followers for their thoughts.

"He had lots of projects – he was working on a lot that he'd finished, and I just don't know what's appropriate or what you guys wanna see on here," she said. "He's got a lot of behind the scenes interviews and photos from MasterChef, he's got books, a fashion range, he's got spirits ageing in a distillery in Tassie," she explained. "He's got a TV show he filmed in Italy last year with the family."

Lauren added that she'd add a poll to see how Jock's followers would feel about seeing some of those projects.

"Somehow we will work out whether there's a path forward here, or if we don't do anything at all, but thanks again and I will manage his channel from now on and I will respond to as much as I can," she added. "Thank you."

Jock's fellow MasterChef judge Andy Allen commented on the video, writing, "Love Jock, love you and love the family."

"Love you and know that when it feels right for you it’s right… you all have so many projects you worked on together," designer Collette Dinnigan wrote. "There is no rush don’t feel a need to do anything except to take care of yourself and family."

Gordon Ramsay added three love heart emojis, while former MasterChef star Keyma Vasquez added, "Loz lovely, follow your heart and anything you decide it will be supported by his friends, family and fans. You were a super couple and all that hard work whether you decide to share it or not will be treasured forever. Sending you lots of love to you and your beautiful family."

"Sending you and the family continuous love, strength and support. Please share more of Jock. Keep the dream alive," Gogglebox star Jad Nehmetallah wrote. "We’re here for the journey and to bring it to life."

"You are so strong. I would love to see more of Jock," Dessert Master's Kirsten Tibballs said.

Many of Jock's followers shared similar messages, with many writing that whatever Lauren chose to share would be appropriate and that they would love to see more of Jock's work.

The celebrity chef was found dead at 2am in Melbourne last month after police received a call requesting a “welfare check”, and is survived by Lauren and his four children, Ava, Sophie, Alfie, and Isla.
