Jim Carrey becomes a live-streamer, rallies his #EggHeads in exclusive “Sonic 3” deleted scene

What would Jim Carrey's Ivo Robotnik look like as a live-streamer? A Sonic the Hedgehog 3 deleted scene has the answer.

Entertainment Weekly's exclusive look (shown above) from the home release bonus features of the film revealed a scrapped moment in which Ivo reveals his pastime as a live-streamer, using the handle "Huevo Diablo." The special effects are incomplete, so pay no mind to the blue screen in the background.

Emerging with grandfather Gerald Robotnik (also played by Carrey), Shadow (Keanu Reeves), and Agent Stone (Lee Majdoub) in London to swipe a super-weapon key card from G.U.N. headquarters, he shows off his "rizz" to all his #EggHeads. Of course, all of his Egg Heads are just Stone furiously tapping the like button.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be available for purchase on digital retailers starting Jan. 21 from Paramount Home Entertainment. It will also be available digitally as part of a new collection of all three movies, including 2020's Sonic the Hedgehog and 2022's Sonic the Hedgehog 2. On April 14, the third entry will then be available to buy on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

Directed by Jeff Fowler, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 re-teamed Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O'Shaughnessey), and Knuckles (Idris Elba), this time to take on Shadow, a genetically engineered speedster hedgehog who's been locked away in a secret G.U.N. facility for years. Once released, Shadow accepts the aid of Ivo and Gerald to unleash a super weapon on the world. James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Krysten Ritter, Natasha Rothwell, and Shemar Moore also appear.

Another sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, is now in the works and is projected to be released in theaters in spring 2027.
