Jill Duggar Issues Bold Political Statement Dividing Fans

Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, haven't been ones to shy away from sharing their opinions about major societal issues. However, the former Counting On star recently issued a bold political statement that divided her fans ahead of Election Day 2024.

On Oct. 31, Jill shared a message to fans via Instagram with photos of herself, Derick and their three kids after voting.

The main image showed Jill and Derick smiling while wearing "I Voted Early" stickers. In a second picture, Derick held hands with their youngest son, Freddy, with their other sons, Israel and Samuel nearby. The family seemingly walked toward a building, presumably Jill and Derick's board of elections.

Jill issued a political message in the caption, writing, "🇺🇸For both @derickdillard and I growing up, the election season was always a fun time for us as we frequented political events and watch parties (as kids, the incentives for us were mostly staying up later than normal & eating all the great party foods…chips & dips and filling up on leftover cheesecake). But now it’s just fun showing our kiddos what it’s all about!#weearlyvoted #govote #freedomisntfree #election2024 #voteearly #gomerica #grateful #thankful #GodblessAmerica #americanpride🇺🇸 @intendtolive."

In the comments, fans were divided in their responses. A Democratic supporter wrote, "With the reflection you’ve been doing on your faith journey, I hope you voted for the most Christ-like candidate of the two, Kamala Harris."

Another Harris voter shared, "Voting for [Donald] Trump is the opposite of Christianity."

Meanwhile, a Trump supporter commented, "MAGA 🙌 Trump is not as bad as the media portrays him to be. I watched all 5.5 hrs of the rally and all I saw was freedom, love and inclusivity."

A different Republican echoed, "I am a woman who proudly voted for Trump!"

The mom of three returned to Instagram on Nov. 1 to share a video of her family's Halloween costumes while trick-or-treating—and in doing so, seemingly hinted at her support for Trump. In the clip, Jill wore a "garbage lady" costume while Derick dressed up like "garbage."

Many Instagram users interpreted their costumes as support for Trump, as Donald Trump Jr. recently dressed as trash in response to President Joe Biden calling Trump supporters "garbage" after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe said Puerto Rico was a "floating island of garbage" at an Oct. 27 Trump rally.

In the comments, Jill's followers were once again divided.

One person declared, "Love the costumes!!! 👏👏 Praying for a fair election! Trump 2024," as a second shared, "Love you and Derek’s costumes!!! MAGA BABY!!! 🇺🇸♥️."

A follower on the opposite side of the political aisle commented, "Oh my. That’s disappointing," while someone else wrote, "Jill I supported you but you don’t support women! I am out."
