Jessica Simpson and husband Eric Johnson have ended their relationship after 10 years of marriage, with The Dukes of Hazzard star revealing in a January 13 statement that they were separating and focusing on co-parenting. E! News reported that Simpson and Johnson's separation has been going on "for a while," and revealed that just days before the announcement, the singer listed her home in Los Angeles for sale.

Simpson, according to E!, Simpson first listed her Hidden Hills home for sale back in September 2023, but later was removed the following month in August. The "I Wanna Be With You" singer, however, put the home back on the market on January 11—two days before announcing her and Johnson's separation—for $17.9 million.

"Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage," Simpson said in a statement to People. "Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family." E!'s source added that the former couple “are both great parents, and the kids are 100 percent their focus."

People reported in November that Simpson has been equally splitting her time between Los Angeles and Nashville, as she's preparing for her first album in 16 years. "She's working on music and splits her time between Los Angeles and Nashville. Eric spends all of his time in L.A., where the kids go to school," an insider told People at the time. "Jess and Eric very much live separate lives."

As for the reason behind their break up, Page Six's source revealed that “Jess and Eric had trust issues...They were no longer on the same page, and it drove a wedge between them.”
