Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are reunited, and it maybe doesn't feel so good.

The two, who starred together in the iconic 1997 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer and its 1998 sequel, are reprising their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson in director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson's new reboot. The film's gory first look got a big reaction from the crowd at CinemaCon on Monday.

The footage from the sequel starts out with a scene between a picture-perfect young couple (played by series newcomers Madelyn Cline and Joshua Orpin). Apparently Cline's character has had a rough day, so her beau tells her to go take a meditative bath (her bath bomb, conspicuously, happens to look a lot like blood).

While she does, Orpin's character downstairs is harpooned by a cloaked killer who is shown wielding — what else? — a hook. As the footage reveals, all of the killing probably has something to do with a group of five young friends who, a year earlier, were involved in a deadly car accident and made a pact to cover it up.

The crowd gathered in Vegas for the annual confab reacted loudly to Prinze's Ray, who shows up at a town hall of some sort to remind everyone ominously that “this isn’t the first time there has been violence like this in Southport." Hewitt got an even bigger reaction when she later shows up to deliver one iconic line, asking someone, "I just have one question: What did you do last summer?” The footage ends with several quick cuts of the hook-wielding killer doing some slashing.

In addition to Prinze, Hewitt, Orpin, and Cline, the rebooted I Know What You Did Last Summer also stars Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King, and Chase Sui Wonders. (The latter of whom recently teased on The View that "the hook is back" and that she can "say that Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are back in action, and they are still so hot. So good-looking. My God!"

The original 1997 film followed four friends — played by Prinze, Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe — who are bound by accident when they run over a fisherman and dispose of his body in the water. When they reconvene a year later, they receive a threatening letter from someone aware of the incident and are soon terrorized by a hook-wielding murderer.

I Know What You Did Last Summer will haunt theatergoers starting this summer, on July 18.
