The Bear star Liza Colón-Zayas is being celebrated for her big win at the 2024 Emmys!

Latinx stars are praising Colón-Zayas, 52, after she took home her first-ever Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series. Shortly after receiving the milestone, John Leguizamo gave the Allswell in New York star a shoutout in his speech about the importance of hiring diverse talent.

"My pal Liza Colón-Zayas — she won for The Bear, the charming story of White people who are obsessed with Michelin stars and making kale taste good," he joked, also naming Latina actresses Selena Gomez, Sofía Vergara, Issa López and Nava Mau (who is also the first transgender person ever to be nominated for a limited series acting Emmy).

Sheryl Lee Ralph also dedicated an Instagram post to Colón-Zayas, sharing photos of the two along with a video of them dancing in their gowns.

“When my sister @lizacolonzayas_lcz won, it felt like I won too! Her talent, her brilliance, her heart—it was all shining on that stage,” Ralph wrote in the caption. “So deserving of this moment Liza, watching you win was like watching a dream unfold! Congratulations my sister. You have earned this moment and more! #emmys.”

Jennifer Lopez took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate the actress.

“Yayyyy @lizacolonzayas_lcz 👏👏👏,” Lopez wrote over a video of Colón-Zayas accepting her award.

In her own speech, Colón-Zayas acknowledged the people in her life who helped her get to where she is today, and gave a special mention to Ralph, 67, and other famous counterparts for their success.

"Thank you for lowering the microphone for me," she quipped. "Thank you to my husband David Zayas, he told me to write a speech and I didn't, because I didn't think it would be possible. How could I have thought it would be possible to be in the presence of Meryl Streep and Carol Burnett and Janelle and Sheryl Lee Ralph. I love you all, I revere you to the bottom of my heart. My mamí, mamí, I thank you. My family, my grandkids, thank you."

"Thank you for giving me a new life with this show. And to all the Latina who are looking at me, keep believing and vote. Vote for your rights." she concluded her speech.

Her win was just one of The Bear’s 11 wins and 23 total nominations this year. The series won outstanding casting, writing and directing as well. It was also nominated for outstanding comedy series.

Colón-Zayas plays Tina Marrero in the hit FX series, which is about a Chicago restaurant and its eclectic kitchen staff who steadily ascends inside Chef Carmy's (played by Jeremy Allen White, who won outstanding lead actor in a comedy) kitchen.
