Jennifer Lopez, 52, 'slays' in plunging dress on Met Gala red carpet
In a night that's renowned for pushing the fashion boundaries, Jennifer Lopez managed to stand out from the Met Gala crowd in an unexpected yet sexy look.
The 52-year-old strolled the star-studded red carpet in NYC in an embellished brown dress by US designer Ralph Lauren that featured both a plunging neckline and a thigh-high split.
United States of JLo
Channelling 'glam ranch hand' vibes, JLo's sleeveless gown brought some major drama with its lengthy train edged in feathers.
The music icon's accoutrements — a studded Western-style leather choker, a (faux) fur cape and a cowboy hat — all paid homage to the event's theme, 'In America: An Anthology of Fashion'.
One half expected her to have a pair of pistols hanging off her low-slung leather belt and a trusty steed ready to ride off into the sunset.

Jen's footwear of choice wasn't suited to equestrian endeavours, however. She sported a pair of silver platform heels from her own collection with Designer Shoe Warehouse.
As for her Met Gala makeup, the "Jenny From The Block" singer stuck to her own cosmetics line, JLo Beauty which she launched last December.
JLo's fans took to the comments section on her Instagram to gush over her ensemble.
"I actually love! It’s so different and I love when you take risks like this!" wrote one.
"SLAY!!!!," added another while a third declared her the "Highest level".
Bennifer is back
While she walked the red carpet solo, Jennifer cosied up to her boyfriend, Ben Affleck once inside the museum.
The recently reunited couple posed for photos arm-in-arm and even puckered up for a Covid-safe kiss while wearing face masks.
Dubbed 'Bennifer' when they first got together back in 2002, Jen and Ben, 49, were engaged but split just two years later.
After rekindling their love in April this year, the pair made their first official red-carpet appearance together in almost two decades when they attended the premiere of Ben's new film, The Last Duel, at the Venice Film Festival.
