Jennifer Lopez & Brett Goldstein Are Having An ‘Office Romance’ At Netflix
EXCLUSIVE: After delivering Netflix two hit movies in The Mother and Atlas, Jennifer Lopez is readying her next feature with the streamer, this time pairing with two-time Ted Lasso Emmy winner Brett Goldstein for the irreverent romantic comedy Office Romance. There was a hot bidding war for the feature, which Netflix won.
Goldstein and Joe Kelly are co-writing the rom-com, which we hear from sources has several great character actor roles.

Producers on Office Romance are Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett for Ryder Picture Company; Goldstein and Kelly; as well as Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Films. Nuyorican’s Courtney Baxter is executive producer.
Nuyorican Productions has a multiyear first-look deal with Netflix spanning feature films, TV series and unscripted content, with an emphasis on projects that support diverse female actors, writers and filmmakers.
Both Lopez and Goldstein recently had pics at the Toronto Film Festival. Lopez was at TIFF with the Amazon MGM Studios sports drama Unstoppable, about championship wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg; the movie has 74% fresh reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Goldstein world premiered the MRC feature drama All of You, which he co-wrote and starred in with Imogen Poots. That pic stands at 85% fresh reviews on RT.
Beamed Deadline’s Chief Film Critic Pete Hammond about Unstoppable, “Lopez is the other standout, not often given the credit she deserves and here giving her all right from the wry opening scenes,, where we see the love and pride this mother has for her son. She’s terrific.”

Recently, we told you that Lopez and Nuyorican are making a series out of the Emily Henry bestseller Happy Place, which Bridgerton Emmy nominee Leila Cohan is co-writing and showrunning for Netflix.
Lopez’s top two movies on Netflix, The Mother and Atlas, clocked 136.4 million global views and 73 million global views, respectively. The Mother is among the streamer’s 10 most-watched movies of all time and was Netflix’s most-watched movie of 2023. Atlas also hit the top 10 in 93 countries.
In addition to All Of You, Goldstein has wrapped production on the latest drama from Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó, At the Sea, in which he stars alongside Amy Adams and Murray Bartlett. He is also the creator and executive producer of Apple TV+’s Shrinking alongside Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence; the comedy returns for its second season October 16. They follow his Emmy-winning performance as the brash yet lovable Roy Kent in Apple TV+’s record-breaking Ted Lasso, on which he also was co-executive producer and writer.
Goldstein is coming off the heels of headlining his first standup comedy tour, The Second Best Night Of Your Life, which sold out venues across the U.S. and Canada.
Kelly is a a two-time Emmy winner in Outstanding Comedy Series for Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. He was also a scribe on How I Met Your Mother and SNL.
