Jennifer Lawrence is engaged to art gallery owner Cooke Maroney after eight months of dating.

The 28-year-old Oscar winner has been dating Maroney, 34, since June last year and the pair are now set to tie the knot, a representative for the star confirmed to People.

So, here’s what you need to know about J-Law’s future hubby:

He is a big deal in the New York art scene

Having majored in art history in New York University, Cooke is now the director of the Gladstone 64 gallery in New York.

Prior to this, he worked at the Gagosian gallery.

Cooke’s good at what he does, according to an art world contact who spoke to The Cut.

“I’d say he understands what good art is, as opposed to a lot of art dealers who just like to go to parties and do deals,” said the source.

“I know that he likes contemporary but I know he also appreciates modernism. I think he really has solid taste in art and he’s a very good art dealer, and I expect a fruitful career out of him.”

He met Jennifer Lawrence through a mutual friend

In June 2018, a source told Page Six: “They met through Jen’s friend Laura… The relationship has been going on a few weeks.

“But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together.”

His parents own a farm in Vermont

Cooke’s parents, James Marouney and Suki Fredericks, own Oliver Hill Farm in Vermont.

Originally from New York, Marouney and Fredericks moved their family to the rural area when Cooke was just two, in order to provide a more “quiet, rural life”, according to Medium.

Like Lawrence, he maintains a low profile on social media

Maroney has a private Instagram account which boasts 1,969 followers, including socialite Paris Hilton.

Other than this, he is relatively incognito on social platforms.

He is very, very tall

Towering over 5 foot 9 inch Jennifer Lawrence, he is well above 6 foot, with The Cut predicting his height at 6 foot 4 inches.

He socialises with New York’s high society

Maroney has been pictured with Stavros Niarchos – Paris Hilton’s ex-fiancé – and Vladimir Roitfeld, the son of former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld.

In the past, Jennifer Lawrence has been romantically linked with director Darren Aronofsky, 49, and The Favourite actor Nicholas Hoult, 29, whom she dated for five years.
