Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer Reunite on “13 Going on 30” Anniversary: ‘Forever 30, Flirty and Thriving’
"Thanks for watching our movie and loving it!" Greer said in a message to fans
13 Going on 30 is no longer a teen!
On Tuesday, April 23, cast members Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer got together to celebrate the coming-of-age rom-com turning 20 years old!
The trio all shared the same recorded video chat to their Instagram accounts, titled “13 Going on Boomer.”
Greer, 48, first had a sweet blooper before she kicked the clip off with a warm welcome.
“Hi! Thanks for watching our movie and loving it!” the actress, who played Lucy Wyman in the 2004 film, said
The movie follows teenager Jenna Rink, played by Garner, 52. On the night of her 13th birthday party, Rink’s wish to be "30, flirty and thriving" came true when her character transformed into a 30-year-old woman with her dream job, who suddenly had to find out how to navigate adulthood.
“That’s it. We got it,” Ruffalo, 56, added of Greer’s introduction.
“#13GoingOn30. Twenty years. We are three Boomers braving Zoom—because we want to thank you. 👴👵👵 To every person who has loved this movie along with us: Thank You. We see you, we appreciate you and we love you back. Forever thirty, flirty and thriving! 💕,” the upload was captioned.
The actors then reflected on what life looked like in 2004.
“Twenty years ago, we were just on little — did we have — we had cell phones,” Garner said.
Greer specifically noted that it was “flip phones” at the time.
Ruffalo reflected on some of his biggest roles, saying that portraying Matt Flamhaff in 13 Going on 30 takes the cake every time.
“There’s two types of people in this world. There’s Hulk people, and there’s 13 Going on 30 people, and I get equal amounts,” said Ruffalo, who has appeared as Hulk in a handful of superhero films, adding, “Way more 13 Going on 30.”
According to Greer, back then “everyone got their news from the same place.”
“A newspaper!” Ruffalo yelled.
They were also surprised to learn that Brie Larson appeared in the film as “Six Chick #3.”
As the conversation continued, Greer shared how getting a zit now makes her feel youthful. Garner and Ruffalo also virtually clinked their razzles — to which Greer delivered her line: "You guys are gonna make me throw up."
By this point, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” the movie’s unofficial theme song thanks to an iconic dance scene, was playing in the background.
And of course the cast couldn’t celebrate 13 Going on 30 without the added nostalgia of them doing the “Thriller” dance together.
In February, Ruffalo received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Garner was present for the ceremony.
Speaking before the honoree and his guests, she mentioned several other A-list women that he’s shared the screen with in past rom-coms before revealing that the dance sequence almost made him drop out of the entire production.

“I wonder if he tried to drop out of their films, like he did out of ours after the first rehearsal of the 'Thriller' dance where Mark went from kind of shocked that we actually had to do this, to antsy, to deathly quiet, to 'Bro, this is not for me,’ ” she quipped.
The pair then recreated the moment.
