Jennifer Aniston Launches New Charity to Support Animal Rescues

The Morning Show star Jennifer Aniston is a huge champion for rescue dogs and now the 55-year-old actress is taking a wonderful step towards doing more to help shelter pets, by launching her very own charity to support animal rescues called 'The Clydeo Fund' which will support animal rescue organizations around the globe.

The fund is named after her own adorable rescue pup named Clyde and a children's book she wrote inspired by Clyde entitled Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life which releases October 1.

People Magazine has an exclusive with Aniston who was quoted as saying, "We can help these animals, and we can get awareness out, and help the shelters that are in desperate need of upkeep because they're falling apart," explains the former Friends star. "They can't keep up. And all you see is that we're euthanizing innocent, beautiful, perfectly, perfectly fine two-year-old dogs, or a puppy, or a litter. I can't. It's too much. It's too many."

With every dollar donated, the fund will help organizations rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for animals. You can learn more about The Clydeo Fund by visiting their website here.

How to Help Shelter Pets in Your Own Town

Sure, adopting a dog is always a wonderful choice to make, but maybe you can't have a dog or you don't have the time or money to commit to a dog. There are still so many wonderful ways to help shelter dogs in your area!

You can make a monetary donation or a donation of pet supplies like food, toys, cleaning products or things like old blankets or towels. Call your local Humane Society or animal rescue to see what supplies they are in need of.

You can always foster a dog until they find their forever family.

Some shelters let you take a dog overnight for a sleepover if you can't foster for a longer time period. This can still help a dog stay socialized and help protect them from kennel stress.

You can volunteer to help clean kennels, or take a dog for a walk or a run. Some shelters even appreciate volunteers who can just come in and pet dogs and spend time with them.

Anything you can to help shelter dogs in your area is such a wonderful way to give back in your own community. Contact your local Humane Society, animal shelter or breed specific rescue in your area to find out ways you can help.
