Jelly Roll Wins Over WWE SummerSlam Crowd with Folding Chair Smack and Epic Chokeslam Move: 'I Lived a Childhood Dream'

The country star also performed his new track "Liar" during a visit to Cleveland Browns Stadium that he won't soon forget

Jelly Roll has accomplished yet another "childhood dream." And this one required kicking some ass.

The country superstar, 39, stepped into the ring at WWE SummerSlam 2024 on Aug. 3, when he instantly won over the Cleveland Browns Stadium audience as he teamed up with wrestlers Miz and R-Truth to duke it out with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.

During the showing of wrestling prowess, the "Lonely Road" singer sat in the crowd dressed in all black with pal Machine Gun Kelly, before Theory and Waller started dissing him from the ring. Jelly wasn't taking it, however, and soon appeared right behind the duo while holding a black folding chair, which he then used to smack Waller on the back.

For the grand finale, Jelly grabbed Theory by the neck and performed an epic chokeslam as the trio gave Theory a taste of the five-knuckle shuffle — made famous by none other than John Cena.

"Crazy — I lived a childhood dream tonight in the craziest way I’ve ever lived it," Jelly later wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "Wow. Man thank you @WWE for everything. What a night."

Elsewhere during his time at SummerSlam, Jelly performed his new track "Liar" following an introduction from Triple H. During the event, he rubbed shoulders with both Triple H and even Undertaker, as the WWE shared some behind-the-scenes clips from their hangouts over the weekend.

"When you see somebody succeed at the level that they have, he has, and is yet a massive fan of what we do, that's the best for us," Triple H said while standing next to the country singer. "When we can all get together, we loves our music and he loves our product, we share that passion together, man."

Cena himself also gave Jelly a quick shoutout on X (formerly Twitter) after noticing that he used his signature move in action. He even gave him an informal invitation to do it all again.

"Have listened to his music, had the privilege of spending some time with him, and now know I have a GREAT option for a tag team partner anytime @WWE comes to Nashville," Cena wrote. "@JellyRoll615 ’s Time is Now!!!! #SummerSlam"

Beyond just slamming chairs over his opponents, Jelly Roll has had quite the run in 2024 so far. In June, the musician booked his first-ever international shows following years of only touring across the U.S., as he performed two gigs in Canada last month.

Soon embarking on his Beautifully Broken arena tour and hitting 37 U.S. cities, Jelly also just unleashed his new track with MGK, "Lonely Road." The song, which features a new spin on John Denver's classic "Take Me Home, Country Roads," arrived alongside a video with appearances from the duo's other halves Megan Fox and Bunnie Xo.

"What makes this collab so beautiful is its two guys that came from the exact same kinda place with less than zero percent of making it out it," Jelly wrote on Instagram upon the song's release last month. "We have known each other for at least 15 years now. And in true young dumb fashion it was a tumultuous beginning and basically it’s because I was one of the many people that judged him before I gave him a chance. but over time I’ve had the honor of watching him become one of the biggest artist on earth but most importantly I’ve watched him become one of the best fathers and humans on earth."

"To my brother, I want you to know the positive energy radiating off of you. I can’t even shower you with enough praises for how incredible it has been to watch you become one of the greatest most multifaceted songwriters and musicians in the game," he concluded.
