Jelly Roll fans, rejoice! The country crooner is debuting a brand new track at this year's ACM Awards, streaming on Prime Video on the evening of May 16, and we've got a sneak peek at the song he says is like "a train off the tracks."
The "Son of a Sinner" singer spoke with ABC Audio ahead of the program, where he said that "all bets are off, dude," per Chicago radio station The Mix. "Man, it is different for even me. It is a different look. It's a different thing."
As the musician continues to boast his physical transformation throughout his weight-loss journey, it seems as though he may be working on a transition when it comes to his discography, too.
“I can tell you that the new chapter of music in the Jelly Roll book starts Thursday night on Amazon Prime," he added. "Check it out, baby, for sure.”
The singer can't say for certain if the new track, called "Liar," will become his next single, jokingly comparing himself to "a comedian testing jokes in front of people" as he told the crowd at a preview attended by Parade to let him know if the song is "playable."
"If not," he further joked, "we'll give you another option; we've got choices!" Fans are certainly waiting with bated breath to see what the beloved performer, who is nominated for four awards this year, comes out with next.
As a first-time nominee, Jelly Roll stands to take home Single of the Year for “Need A Favor,” Music Event of the Year for “Save Me” feat Lainey Wilson, Male Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.
It's the first time someone's gone from no nominations to an Entertainer of the Year nod since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993—a stat he calls "crazy talk" that he "just couldn’t wrap [his] head around" in a new interview with Audacy. But, if he takes home at least two wins, the singer plans to add a brand new tattoo to the mix to celebrate.
While accepting an award at the CMT Awards earlier this year, fans felt a tugging on their heartstrings as he opened up about the way his life has changed over the last year, tearing up at the microphone. The singer has been transparent about his battle with addiction over the years, while his wife, Bunnie XO, gave a vulnerable account of her husband getting bullied off of social media by haters, but he's maintained a "priceless" attitude throughout.
