Jelly Roll Fans Say His New Ad Is the 'Best Commercial Since Cindy Crawford'
Fans aren’t only loving Jelly Roll for his music, but they’re now praising the “Save Me” singer’s appearance in a new commercial.
The husky crooner appears in a new spot for Zevia natural soda sporting a flannel shirt with sleeves cut off over a white T-shirt, also with the sleeves cut off, jean cut-offs and cowboy boots, when two boys spot the star.
“Jelly Roll? In a Zevia commercial?” says one of the boys. “This is huge. By choosing him as the spokesperson for their zero sugar soda with zero artificial ingredients, Zevia is dismantling the notion that “real men” cannot be conscious of what goes into their bodies. Mr. Roll is now, quite literally, the poster child for sweet authenticity.
The commercial comes to an end with Jelly Roll letting out a belch after sampling a can of Zevia root beer and then poses with the can and smiles as "What a Man," the 1968 song by Linda Lyndell swells up. (The tune was later famously sampled by Salt-N-Pepa and re-titled "Whatta Man" for their hit 1993 collaboration with En Vogue.)
Fans approve of the spot, sharing their praises in the comments of an Instagram post of the commercial.
“lol BEST commercial since Cindy Crawford!! ❤️,” wrote one.
“The hair flip 😂 iconic,” adds another.
“The burp and the smile is me every time I drink zevia too!! ❤️❤️❤️,” chimes in another commenter.
While the overwhelming number of commenters were positive, there were at least a few haters who took shots a Jelly.
“Not exactly the picture of good health there Zevia 😂,” wrote one.
Another fan had the opposite take. “@jellyroll615 man you may not ever see this but your an inspiration brother,” they wrote.
Still another fan referenced Cindy Crawford’s iconic Pepsi ad, writing, “I was waiting for, Cindy C, but Jelly will do 🥰.”
Jelly Roll has been on a fitness journey and recently celebrated losing 100 pounds.
