Jay Z and Beyonce make rare appearance at Blue Ivy's Mufasa premiere amid lawsuit
Beyonce and Jay Z posed for photographers at the Mufasa premiere with their daughter Blue Ivy, who voices Kiara in the film.
Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z, made a rare public appearance with their daughter Blue Ivy one day after the rapper denied rape allegations made against him. The family was celebrating their eldest daughter's feature film debut in Mufasa, where she stars as Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala.
A woman who previously sued Sean 'Diddy' Combs, alleging she was raped at an awards show after-party in 2000 when she was 13, amended the lawsuit on Sunday to include a new allegation that Jay-Z was also at the party and participated in the sexual assault. Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has vehemently denied the allegations, which he says are "so heinous in nature".
"My only heartbreak is for my family," he said in the statement shared on social media. "My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age."
He continued, "It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit."

Jay Z's lawyers have filed a motion to require the woman to reveal her identity or dismiss the lawsuit.
The filing reads: "Mr. Carter should not have to defend himself in the brightest of spotlights against an accuser who hides in complete darkness while levelling allegations that describe the purported acts occurring in the plain sight of witnesses who could refute the plaintiff’s claims if only her identity was revealed."

Despite the lawsuit, Blue Ivy was joined by her famous parents for photographs on the red carpet, with Beyonce wearing a gold gown to match her daughter. According to the Hollywood Reporter, it was quite a surprise for photographers and eventgoers when the family arrived as they were not previously announced as attending the event.
The public appearance was very rare for Beyonce, who doesn't usually walk red carpets, often choosing to do her own photoshoots for events like the Grammys.
The singer followed up the surprising appearance with a gushing post for Blue, sharing photos of the pre-teen on the red carpet and a sweet tribute.
She wrote, "My gorgeous baby girl. This is your night. You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara. Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining."
Beyonce's fans also congratulated Blue, with one user writing, "She’s growing up beautifully."
"We’re proud of you Blue! This is your night! another said.
"Tearing up. Such a sweet girl," a third said.
"She is gorgeous!" Khloe Kardashian added. "Such a special moment."
