James Packer is skipping best mate Karl Stefanovic's wedding

Karl Stefanovic is getting married in two days — but apparently his best man James Packer won’t be making an appearance.

The billionaire had been rumoured to be right by Karl’s side when he ties the knot to Jasmine Yarbrough in Mexico on Saturday, along with an array of celebrity guests.

But the latest reports claim James has decided to skip the lavish ceremony to celebrate his mum’s 80th birthday in Argentina instead.

“Unfortunately he is not able to make the wedding due to this being such a special opportunity to spend time with his mother on this auspicious birthday for her,” a source told The Daily Telegraph.

The 51-year-old media mogul was among the 60 lucky invitees set to watch the lovers walk down the aisle at the One&Only Pamilla in Los Cabos, according to Daily Mail Australia.

Karl, 44, and James have been mates for years with the casino owner even letting Karl and Jasmine use his multi-million dollar yacht for private vaycays during the early stages of their romance.

Other guests include Karl’s Today co-host Richard Wilkins and PR maven Roxy Jacenko.

His three kids from his 21 year marriage to Cassandra Thorburn have flown in for the special event too, even his eldest son Jackson 19, who had been rumoured to be missing their nuptials.

Jackson’s shock attendance came following claims of growing tension after Karl’s divorce from his mum.

Another familiar face we won’t be seeing in his wedding snaps though is that of his former co-host Lisa Wilkinson, who confirmed recently she has been left out of the event.

The pair worked alongside each other for 10 years before Lisa, 58, departed for The Project.
