The shock Oscars slap reaction from Jada Pinkett Smith we all missed
A different angle of the now infamous Oscars slap incident is shocking people on social media as it appears to show Jada Pinkett Smith laughing after her husband Will Smith assaulted Chris Rock.
The video, which was shared on TikTok, is taken from behind Jada’s seat and captures the moment Will walks back from the stage and begins hurling verbal abuse at Chris from his seat.
Chris can be heard saying, “Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me,” at which point Jada throws her head forward, apparently in laughter.
Seconds later, Will repeatedly yells out “Keep my wife's name out your f***ing mouth!”, and Jada keeps her eyes forward as a shocked Chris assures him, “I'm going to, OK?” before continuing on with the show.
Reactions to the video have been strong, with many people angered by the new footage.
“The more clips I see of #SmithvsRock I am so disgusted by Jada and Will laughing and joking during and after the assault! Despicable behaviour from grown adults!” one person said, another commented, “Oh now she laughs?”

A few people pointed out how Jada doesn’t turn towards Will while he’s yelling at Chris, while others continued to speculate that the whole incident was staged.

Jada has yet to respond to the backlash from the new footage but shared a quote on Instagram earlier this week saying, “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it”.
Meanwhile, Will issued an apology the day after the Oscars, saying he is embarrassed by his behaviour and “deeply regrets” his actions.
The Academy has launched a formal investigation into the incident and issued a statement on Thursday saying that Will was asked to leave at the time.
“While we would like to clarify that Mr. Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and refused, we also recognise we could have handled the situation differently,” a spokesperson said.
Weighing in on the matter, The View host Whoopi Goldberg said she doesn’t think Will was forced out of the building as organisers wanted to avoid creating a scene live on camera.
“Picture: they come back from back from break, now if [Will] is in some sort of state and he's struggling and you're trying to get him out the door and it's still on camera,” she said.
