Radio star Jackie 'O' Henderson has fired up over a ‘disrespectful’ act at the Australian Open, after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was booed by the 15,000-strong crowd in Rod Laver Arena on Sunday night.

The KIIS FM breakfast show co-host was amongst a slew of celebrities who made their way to the Melbourne tournament to watch Jannik Sinner take on Daniil Medvedev in the men’s final.

After a nail-biting game, which saw Sinner smash Medvedev 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-3, Aussie tennis legend Todd Woodbridge took to the stage to read out the list of dignitaries in attendance. However, when he called out Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s name, a chorus of boos was heard bellowing from the packed arena.

This morning, Jackie O slammed the response on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, saying she didn’t agree with it at all.

“You were the only one cheering when Albo showed up, all the rest of the Melbourne elite were booing,” Kyle Sandilands said on-air.

Jackie responded: “Yeah, I protested because I don’t like that. I don’t think we should boo our Prime Minister. I just think it’s really disrespectful.”

Kyle went on to tell Jackie that she’s got to realise that it’s the ‘elite’ of Melbourne society that attend the Australian Open, with Jackie protesting that the same thing happens at every sporting event.

“No one like Albo at the tennis,” Kyle continued, with Jackie replying: “Ah well, I do, I cheered for him.”
