J.Lo and Ben Affleck Are in Mediation, But Divorce Might "Get Ugly" Over Financial "Sticking Points"
As you're likely well aware due to everyone being in a state of 👀, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reportedly didn't sign a prenup when they got married. Which is...kinda shocking and has already started creating issues.
According to a new report from People, Ben and Jen are currently in mediation with divorce attorney Laura Wasser, but "there are some sticking points over financials" and things have "the potential to get ugly."
J.Lo and Ben only have to worry about dividing income (or "community property") they earned during their two-year marriage, but it's not exactly nothing. On top of their $60 million mansion, they've appeared in multiple movies and done a ton of endorsements—plus Ben has an entire production company and J.Lo has several brands.
Meanwhile, People's source confirms that J.Lo's listed date of separation (April 26) is, in fact, when she and Ben split up. Buuut, it wasn't exactly on her terms. As the insider put it, “Ben began moving his things out of their shared home while Jennifer was in New York in April, effectively blindsiding her. He wouldn’t answer texts or calls.”
Meanwhile, Page Six reports that J.Lo is leaning on friends during this transitoinal period. “She is open to listening to new voices of those around her," a source tells the outlet. "She needs advice from some new people to add a new layer and get some new suggestions."
