From volatile offscreen feuds to steamy onscreen affairs, Married at First Sight has the ability to grip audiences regardless of which personalities make up its cast.

But now it seems the next season, airing in early 2020, is set to be the most dramatic yet, with this year’s breakout star Martha Kalifatidis, lifting the lid on its juiciest moments.

Martha spills all

The TV bride shared the shock insider details in a sit-down with Yahoo Lifestyle while promoting her partnership with discount app ShopBack which offers discounts and coupons for online stores.

“There’s a new Jessika Power, she’s even cheaper than the old Jessika Power so that’s quite stunning,” she says of one of the new show’s stars.

In her quip, Martha is of course referring to the co-star she befriended before famously falling out following a bust-up at the Logies back in June.

During her stint on the show Jess also gained notoriety for ditching onscreen hubby Mick in favour of Dan Webb—before they also split after an explosive Talking Married interview.

More dramatic than ever

But despite this year’s seemingly endless drama, Martha insists next season’s antics promise to take reality TV’s restrictions even further.

“Someone goes to rehab during the new season and they have to stop filming, so there’s obviously someone abusing drugs,” she claims.

“There’s also another affair.”

Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

Earlier this month, claims about the new series—which is currently being filmed—began to emerge about the drama from a well-placed inside source.

According to the source, who spoke to the Hit Network’s Nick, Jess & Simon, the show was getting so out of control producers needed to call a break.

“You wonder how loose it got, apparently, they’ve just started filming again after a two-week break because the producers were just like, ‘this is going too far, we need to resettle ourselves, take a two-week filming break and then work out how we can tackle the rest of the season,” the radio hosts relayed.

They went on to speculate about the producers and commented that, “for them to go, ‘guys we need a two-week break,’ means whatever they [the contestants] did must be really bad.”

The source, who spoke to the hosts off-air, also alleged that next year will see even more couple swapping between the singles who are scientifically matched and ‘married at first sight’.

What’s to come

And while the identities of those at the centre of her allegations remain unknown, MAFS’ newest batch of singletons is likely to contain a few familiar faces.

Last week, fan favourite Lizzie Sobinoff was reported to have secured another chance at love by being cast as an intruder bride on the new season.

Additionally, former contestant Bronson Norish's ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Romito is believed to be among those heading up the aisle to a stranger while his own co-stars Cam and Jules return as a success story.
