Italian Producer Andrea Iervolino Parts Ways With Business Partner Monika Bacardi to Launch New Solo Outfit

UPDATED: Italian producer Andrea Iervolino — whose credits include Michael Mann’s “Ferrari,” the Johnny Depp-starrer “Waiting for the Barbarians” and “Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend” — has parted ways with business partner Monika Bacardi and is launching a new film and TV outfit called The Andrea Iervolino Company.

Iervolino and Bacardi were partners in ILBE, the studio they co-founded and jointly ran for 13 years.

“With the launch of TAIC, Iervolino has stepped down as president and CEO of ILBE, the studio he co-founded and ran for the last decade, to focus on TAIC,” Iervolino said in a statement. “He will remain available in a non-exclusive capacity to assist ILBE with the transition of a new CEO.”

No reason for the falling out between Iervolino and Bacardi was provided in the statement.

Recent films produced by Iervolino while at ILBE include the Depp-directed “Modi – Three Days on the Wing of Madness” starring Al Pacino; Jean-Claude Van Damme’s franchise sequel “Kill ‘Em All 2”; and the thriller “Find Your Friends” starring Helena Howard, Bella Thorne, Zion Moreno, Chloe Cherry and Sophia Ali.

TAIC has announced that upcoming projects include a Maserati family biopic written and directed by Bobby Moresco, and the film “Ferrari vs. Mercedes,” also to be directed by Moresco. Both were developed while Iervolino was at ILBE.

ILBE issued a statement on Tuesday saying that they own the Maserati IP and that Iervolino has no legal right to use it.

In recent years, Iervolino has been active outside of the film and TV production space. He recently acquired an ownership stake in Miami FC, a professional soccer club based in Florida; he’s been building Tuscany Film Studios, a high-tech filming facility outside Florence, Italy; and running the publicly traded blockchain-based platform Tatatu S.p.A.

Iervolino, who is considered an entrepreneurial prodigy, went from setting up local websites in his hometown of Cassino, Italy when he was just 13 to earning a co-executive producer credit at 17 on 2005’s “The Merchant of Venice,” starring Pacino. ILBE was launched by Bacardi and Iervolino in Rome in 2011.
