Inside Margot Robbie's plans to move back to Australia
EXCLUSIVE: Margot and husband Tom Ackerley are property hunting in some of Australia's most desirable locations.
Following her whirlwind trip to Sydney last week, Margot Robbie is believed to be planning a permanent move back to Australia next year.
Yahoo Lifestyle has been told the Barbie actress is “talking to different [buyers] agents” who are said to be searching for the perfect home for Margot and her husband Tom Ackerley.
“[Margot and Tom] will still divide their time between Australia and LA but they want a permanent base here close to her family [in Brisbane],” the source said.
The couple, who currently live in the Venice neighbourhood of Los Angeles, have been house hunting on the NSW north coast for a while now.
In May, the couple inspected an 8-bedroom mansion in Byron Bay - that has been dubbed “Australia's most beautiful home” - worth $20 million.
Two months later, it was reported that the pair then showed interest in an $8 million Mediterranean-inspired property at Kingscliff on the Tweed Coast.
Margot Robbie's net worth
After a hugely successful year which included the box office smash Barbie, Margot Robbie's net worth is reported to sit at a cool $140 million.
Margot, who was also a producer for Barbie, is said to have made almost $80 million from the film thanks to her salary and box office bonuses, according to Variety.
The Hollywood A-lister, who's known for being humble and well-liked, recently made headlines after shouting fellow restaurant-goers a cocktail at Coogee establishment Mimi's and also spent an hour chatting and taking photos with fans.
Margot was on a promotional tour of her Byron Bay-made gin, and also visited several other cities, buying the first round for patrons at a Brisbane bar.
