Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's Sydney Opera House argument

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were reportedly caught up in an altercation at the Sydney Opera House, after another theatregoer ‘swatted’ the Oscar-winning actress.

The couple, who married in 2006 on the Northern Beaches, visited the Opera House for a date night last month, where they watched The Merry Widow.

Nicole and Keith are said to have jumped to their feet to give the cast a standing ovation - a move that allegedly irked a patron behind them.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Keith Urban tried to explain to the man that they were simply appreciating the talent on the stage.

A NSW Police statement confirmed police were called to the Opera House that night.

“Police have been told a 53-year-old man and a 67-year-old man were both attending the entertainment centre when an argument broke out. Officers spoke to both men and no further action was taken,” the statement read.
