Illamasqua Launches After-Life Beauty Service
In response to growing demand, British beauty brand Illamasqua has reportedly launched a service offering "makeovers for the deceased".
According to the telegraph.co.uk, London funeral directors Leverton & Sons have teamed up with Illamasqua to "fill a gap in the market" fuelled by an increase in people pre-planning their own funeral.
"At Levertons we have always applied make-up when requested by family and friends or when specified in someone's pre-arranged funeral," said Andrew Leverton, director of Levertons & Sons. "We are now entering a new era in [which] pre-arranged funerals have become as standard as making a will, it's great for us to be able to offer this additional service."
Illamasqua's make-up artists have been specially and "respectfully" trained for the job by Leverton & Son's embalmers.
The makeovers, which cost £450 (approx. AU$675) can be tailored to suit individual needs, with a range of options available including a smoky eye, heavy blush or scarlet lip. No word yet on whether the service will become available in Australia.
