Iggy Azalea Nominated For More AMAs Than Any Other Artist This Year
Iggy Azalea has officially made it. The Australian rapper and singer has been nominated for six American Music Awards (AMAs) this year - more than any other artist. That's right, more than Katy Perry (five nominations), Pharrell (five nominations), John Legend (five nominations), Lorde (four nominations), One Direction (three nominations) and yes, even more than Beyonce (three nominations).
More nominations than Beyonce? That means something. Azalea is up for a slew of gongs, including a few we're pretty sure she has in the bag. Our picks? Best New Artist and Single of the Year for 'Fancy', the track radio stations refuse to stop playing - although faces some tough competition in other categories such as Artist of the Year, where she's up against Queen Bey herself.
But then again, who knows? The AMAs are voted for by fans and draw on data accumulated from the Billboard charts, two areas that our Iggy dominates in. She is famously the first Australian to score both the coveted number one and two spot on the Billboard chart, with her hits 'Fancy' and 'Problem' (with Ariana Grande), a feat that was last achieved by The Beatles, according to reports.
