The Aussie actor who helped Nicole Kidman through her divorce from Tom Cruise
Nicole Kidman has revealed that Hugh Jackman helped her deal with her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001.
The 51-year-old Big Little Lies star called time on her marriage with Scientologist Tom Cruise after 10 years of marriage.
“When I got divorced, Hugh and Deb were so much a part of my healing,” the 51-year-old told Women’s Weekly.
“They were some of my best friends through that period.”
While Nicole, who is now married to Keith Urban, has begun to open up her kids with Cruise in recent years, the Mission Impossible star Tom has remained very quiet on the subject.
However, last month it was reported that he has banned his ex-wife from the wedding of their son Connor, who they adopted in the mid-1990s, along with his sister, Bella.
Connor Cruise, 24, apparently plans to marry his Italian girlfriend Silvia, who has reportedly been named the “Scientologist Princess.”
“Tom is behind this and what he wants is as good as law,” a source told Radar Online.“Tom made the call and Connor followed.”
“First, Tom would never even consider inviting Nicole to Connor’s wedding because she’s considered a ‘suppressive person’ by the church — and, second, he doesn’t want her there.”
Nicole previously told The Observer that she doesn’t like to talk about Tom ‘out of respect’ for her husband Keith Urban.
“I have come to the point where I can say: ‘I am not going to keep discussing my ex.’ It’s nice for me to be able to say that, finally,” she said.
