Watching hit drama House Of Hancock, Rose Hancock Porteous’ daughter Joanna Fox had to endure the sordid spectacle of her mum, played by Peta Sergeant, straddling future hubby Lang Hancock, played by Sam Neill.
"It felt strange sitting on the couch with my husband Dean, seeing this odd interpretation of my mother’s life with my late stepfather," chuckles Joanna, 42.
"Of course people tuned in – they’re fascinated with our family."

"There were plenty of lies and inaccuracies. But you have to see the humour. I laughed."
Less amused is Lang’s daughter Gina Rinehart, 61, who has condemned the drama as being ‘tacky’ and ‘fictitious’.
Beyond the inaccuracies, Joanna says the show failed to capture the deep love her mother and Lang Hancock – whom she often refers to as LGH – had for each other.

And Rose, who’s joined us for afternoon tea at Joanna’s Perth home, is equally unimpressed, who says the woman playing her is nothing like her.
"You certainly never wore a French-maid uniform like that when you were a housekeeper," Joanna shakes her head.
When she first met Lang, Rose, 66, recalls: "I wasn’t in uniform, I hadn’t started the job. I was wearing Givenchy, and I could feel my new employer’s eyes observing me from top to toe!"
