Loyal fans can be resistant when brands decide to make changes to beloved products, especially when it comes to nostalgic childhood treats. But loyal consumers of Hostess Twinkies, Cupcakes and Donettes don't have anything to worry about when it comes to the company's latest update, as the treats will still taste exactly the same.

On Thursday, Dec. 12, Hostess announced a major change to the company's logo and package design as part of an ongoing effort to "modernize" the brand, which is over 100 years old.

“The launch of the new logo and packaging design is an exciting way to kick off the next chapter for this great brand and introduce ourselves to new fans,” Christopher Balach, VP of marketing at The J.M. Smucker Co., said in a statement, per Food & Wine. “When we talk to consumers about the brand, the thing we hear again and again is about the joy it brings, and we were eager to celebrate the special feeling of enjoying a favorite Hostess treat through this work.”

The statement went on to describe a "playful font style and a brighter color palette," explaining that the "logo design also includes a new cloud-shaped border celebrating the light and airy quality of every Hostess snack."

The overhauled packaging will also feature revamped product photography and descriptions, which were written after "multiple phases of consumer testing" to help determine precisely what customers wanted to read.

More "refreshes" are on the way, according to the brand—so stay tuned.
